Cape York Water

Water is central to life on Cape York. Wetlands, rivers and springs are important places of cultural, spiritual and environmental diversity. They are refugia areas during the dry and overflow to the surrounding landscape come the wet. These springs, lagoons and wetlands are important breeding grounds and filtration systems that feed rivers and ultimately influence both coastal and marine health on the West Coast and into the biggest lagoon of all, the Great Barrier Reef.
